Founder and CEO Kate Ward was discussing with her husband the pressure put on women — the responsibilities, the being stretched-too-thin, the pressure to perform. And, somehow, the expectation that we have to look put together while doing it all. Wine glass in hand, Kate started sketching and dreaming up a new path. And Saints of June was born.
Using her degree in marketing and studio art, and her years in the corporate world as a sales rep and commercial photographer, Kate has created a brand known for its optimistically cheeky prints, attention to quality, and fabrics that feel like silk, yet are easy to care for. The mission of her brand is to clothe women who want to be stylishly unique, yet don’t have the time to shop like they used to. Her pieces are not fast-fashion; they are made with a high standard of fabrics and craftsmanship. Each print has been created, each fabric curated, and each piece designed for the Saints of June client to enjoy for years to come.
From the first bomber jacket that was sold in 2018, Saints of June has donated a portion of proceeds to two charities supporting teens through mentorship and education: Fields of Dreams Uganda and Jonathan’s Place.
